An Enhanced Enterprise Zone Approved County

The Moniteau County Regional Economic Development Council (MRED) strives to improve economic well-being and quality of life for the communities within the county. The creation of new jobs and retention of those on hand are vital to the economic growth of our region. MRED seeks to expand entrepreneurship opportunities and create an overall prosperity for the communities within Moniteau County.

Recent multi-million dollar projects have enhanced what we can offer to new and expanding area businesses:

• US Highway 50 4-lane highway upgrade (2010)
• $8 million dollar rail facilities investment on the east-west lines traveling through the county (2016)
• 1 Gigabit fiber symmetrical Internet connection to all Co-Mo Electric Cooperative members (complete in 2016)
