Established in 1939, the Co-Mo Electric Cooperative was established to deliver electricity to farmers in rural areas of Cooper, Cole, Moniteau and Morgan counties in central Missouri. Today, Co-Mo Electric serves more than 32,000 meters in those counties and surrounding areas.
Co-Mo Connect, a subsidiary of Co-Mo Electric, was developed from their membership’s need for broadband. After extensive research, fiber to the home was determined to be the best technology to employ in central Missouri to fulfill that need.
After developing a financial model and launching a successful pilot project, Co-Mo Connect has built out an entire fiber network with robust internet bandwidth to serve their member’s internet, telephone and video needs.
With the support of their board and membership, Co-Mo Connect has been able to bring Gigabit technology and speed to Missouri businesses and residents to not only meet their need, but save them a tremendous amount of money.
Moniteau County is connected to Level 3, an international fiber network that can connect you to anywhere in the world. With Level 3 connection and Co-Mo Connect’s fiber system throughout their service region, Moniteau County is an ideal place for business.
Central Missouri is also a great place to live and raise a family. If you’re considering moving a business, you’ll have no trouble finding a ready, reliable work force. The taxes are very reasonable and the cost of living is much lower than other parts of the country.
Moniteau County has great school systems in central Missouri. Moniteau County also offers an excellent transportation system complete with railroads. The interstate system is just a few miles north. There is also an abundance of outdoor activities available, close to the Lake of the Ozarks and connected to the Missouri River.
“We’ve had a lot of positive feedback from businesses in the area about our fiber technology system. With fast data, you can connect to anywhere, anytime,” said Ken Johnson, Co-Mo CEO and General Manager Electric.
Many people have second homes around the Lake of the Ozarks. People are able to spend more time enjoying their second homes and time with family and friends because they can work from the Lake using Co-Mo technology.
